Today (May 14) Harlem Beer Distributing North Carolina announced plans to launch this Spring. The company will first focus on Central NC before expanding statewide. Its first brands will include Harlem Sugar Hill Golden Ale, Harlem Renaissance Wit and Harlem 125 IPA, neighborhood originals from NYC.
“We are excited to finally bring these legendary beers to customers that have been craving them for years,” said Jamel Lynch, CEO at Harlem Beer Distributing North Carolina.
Harlem Beer Distributing has been laying the framework for a distributorship for several years. The company will begin operations next month at a warehouse in Durham. Plans are underway to provide services to independent brewers and wine makers seeking to expand their business. One of those independent brands is East Durham Brewing Company, founded by Briana Brake. She will release her Spaceway Beers this summer.
“Nearly every day we receive calls from down south for our beers, but they can’t find it in the markets. It’s great to see local entrepreneurs opening doors in the distribution industry, they really understand our brands and vision,” said Celeste Beatty, NC native and founder of Harlem Brewing.
Harlem Beer Distributing North Carolina will offer a range of products and services designed to support small breweries and champion craft beer diversity. Lynch is particularly focused on building strong relationships with customers and brand owners.
Harlem Beer Distributing will begin distributing cans and 6-packs of Harlem products during the third week of June. Durham, Nash, Wake, Guilford and Forsyth will be among the first to see Harlem’s products in retail stores, bars and restaurants.
